Remediation
This type of intervention provides intensive work to strengthen the individual’s neurological pathways in cognitive processing areas of challenge or weakness. Curricula are uniquely constructed using research based, multi-sensory techniques to present material in a systematic and sequential fashion. Each student’s program is customized to meet his or her specific needs and is carried out in a one-on-one setting.
Remediation programs are most effective when completed in an intensive and consistent manner. Students typically attend sessions for six to ten hours per week. Sessions are offered in the after school hours and on Saturdays, as well as during school hours. Attending sessions during school hours is often a better way to assist younger students in getting the individualized attention they need without extending their academic day. Intensive training programs are also available during the summer months.
